Position Announcement: Summer Legal Intern

Start date: June 2017

The DC Tenants’ Rights Center is seeking a summer intern to assist our small, “low-bono” public interest law firm. Our firm exclusively represents and advises tenants on issues such as eviction, housing code violations, security deposits, and housing discrimination. We charge a reduced fee and offer unbundled services. The goal of the D.C. Tenants' Rights Center is to provide a range of affordable legal services, from educational workshops, to legal coaching, to representation during negotiations, to full representation in court, so that all DC tenants can access the justice system.

The summer intern would assist our five attorneys with tasks such as preparing and filing documents, performing legal research, interviewing clients, and organizing client files.

The position is paid (minimum wage), and start date and hours are flexible/negotiable.
